Evaluation and reinforcement design for existing structural framing affected by RTUs, evaporators, mechanical equipment, audio/visual systems, gymnasium equipment, reroofing-related loads, and other building modifications requiring clear load paths and constructible details.
Typical applications
- RTU and rooftop mechanical equipment support
- Evaporator support in cold-storage facilities
- Rooftop screen walls, curbs, dunnage, and support framing
- Reroofing-related framing review
- Suspended audio/visual systems
- Gymnasium equipment support
- Mechanical, refrigeration, or specialty equipment loads
- Field measurements and existing-framing assessment
Engineering support for modifications, additions, and imposed loads on pre-engineered metal buildings, where supplier-specific design assumptions govern how members, connections, bracing, and foundations respond to change.
Typical applications
- New wall and roof openings in existing PEMB structures
- Mezzanines, interior structures, and box-in-box freezer additions
- Equipment, conveyor, and refrigeration loads hung from PEMB framing
- Frame, purlin, girt, bracing, and connection evaluation
- Foundation and anchorage review for modified loads
- Coordination with the metal building manufacturer and erector
Design and evaluation of foundations, retaining walls, and site structures where soil, drainage, and load conditions drive performance.
Typical applications
- Shallow and deep foundation design
- Retaining wall design and evaluation
- Foundation distress, settlement, and movement evaluations
- Equipment foundations and pads
- Site walls, stairs, ramps, and miscellaneous site structures
- Coordination with geotechnical and civil engineers
Independent structural review, SE-licensed project partnership, and advisory support for owners, design teams, contractors, and engineering firms.
Typical applications
- Independent structural review and SE-level peer review
- SE-licensed project partnership for engineering firms and design teams
- Advisory opinions on technical questions, scope, or project direction
- Specialty system review, including slabs, PEMB, and equipment support
- Constructability and risk-informed review before construction
Investigation and repair engineering for existing concrete slabs and floors, including distress evaluation, crack mapping, thickness and reinforcement verification, joint and pour-back repair design, and mix design review.
Typical applications
- Slab-on-ground distress investigation: curling, joint spalling, random cracking, and delamination
- Floor flatness and levelness review
- Crack mapping and condition documentation of existing floors
- Heaved slab evaluation and repair design
- Slab thickness and reinforcement verification, with GPR scanning and coring coordination
- Pour-back design and slab replacement detailing
- Joint stabilization, dowel retrofit, and repair specification
- Mix design review and steel fiber dosage specification
Selective residential structural engineering where complexity, damage, or permitting requirements warrant experienced oversight. We take residential work where the structural question is real, not where a checkbox is needed.
Typical applications
- Load-bearing wall removals and framing modifications
- Foundation cracking, settlement, and floor movement evaluations
- Additions, accessory structures, and occupancy changes
- Pre-purchase structural evaluations
- Structural repair design and permit documentation
- Custom residential projects where complexity warrants engineered design
Project Partnership Where SE Involvement Is Required
You have a project that calls for SE licensure, an unfamiliar structural system, or a jurisdiction you do not carry, and you would rather keep the client than hand the work away.
We believe engineers do their best work together. Titan SE partners with other engineering firms on exactly these projects, taking responsibility for the scope we perform, working through the technical decisions inside it with your team, and staying available to your team as the engagement defines.
The structure depends on the project. We can carry a defined portion of the structural scope as your subconsultant, serve as engineer of record where the project calls for SE licensure, provide independent review, or work alongside your engineers on a specialty system such as steel fiber reinforced slabs or PEMB modifications. Scope and responsibility are set out in writing up front, in accordance with regulatory standards, so everyone knows who is doing what before work starts.
Schedule a Structural Engineering Consultation
Speak directly with a Titan SE engineer to review your project, discuss the structural questions involved, and identify the appropriate next step. Consultation appointments are available through a brief submission and scheduling process for a consultation fee, which may be credited toward the project fee if you proceed with Titan SE for the related scope of work.
